Meeting Vendors at Expos – featuring Crave Expo

In this post, we will be featuring the Crave Expo that we went to earlier this month.

Are you having trouble finding vendors for your special day? Want a one stop shop at finding most everything you need? Want to try some delicious food? Expos are a great way to do just that. Some expos are free while others do cost. We had the pleasure this past weekend to attend the Crave Expo in Anaheim. Thank you Crave for inviting us to your event! We got to meet wonderful caterers, bakeries, dessert vendors, florists, and much more! It was a lot of fun to connect with everyone and learn what they had to offer. We were even lucky enough to try different cuisines and fill our tummy with delicious food!

So why is it important to meet vendors? Let us tell you!!

1: Chemistry
I always find it very important to meet vendors first hand.  Not only do you get a taste of what they have to offer, but you also get to see if you connect with them.  Having a connection upon meeting is very important to us as I am sure it is for you guys.  One of the things we offer as wedding planners is a free consultation so that we can meet with potential clients and see if the chemistry is there.  It needs to work both ways.  It’s not about the money or about what services we have to offer.  Most vendors charge roughly around the same price and services are typically the same.  What you want to make sure is that you connect with them.  If you find it easy to talk with them, then I say that’s a great start at choosing the perfect vendor for you.

2: Discounts!
Typically when vendors take part in an expo, they come baring discounts. And if you’re not sure if they are offering deals, it doesn’t hurt to ask. You never know, they might just offer you one on the spot because you just asked. Don’t be afraid to try to save a little bit of that money for your honeymoon!

3: Inspiration
Florists and designers partner with expos to showcase their talent. They definitely know whats trending and will design either a table scape or a centerpiece to show what they have to offer and it allows you to see what is on trend today. Photobooths also have their own trends. I remember at one point, people were hiring video booths instead of photo booths. You just never know! So it’s always a good idea to check out a couple of these expos so that you can get an idea of what you want for your own wedding. Pinterest may be able to help you with that department but nothing beats seeing inspiration in person.

Above all else, if not for inspiration or searching for the right vendors, enjoy the freebies they have to offer! Most bridal shows will offer free tastings. At the Crave Expo, April Love Makeup Academy offered free makeovers. We got to try small bites, meals, and dessert. They even had a bar! You just never know what you will find at a bridal show. Every show is different. But we can assure you that you will definitely leave with more knowledge than you came in with. So give it a try! Find a show near you!

Trending Thursday: Popular Food Idea

You can’t have a wedding without delicious food! In all honesty, guests come to weddings partially because they want to taste the food you have chosen for your wedding.  Of course, they also want to be a part of you and your other half’s tying of the knot.  But after the celebrations, they’ll be wondering what delicious cuisine will they get to try.

Cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres have become quite popular these days.  It is the period in between the ceremony and reception.  It gives you time to take photos and it give the guests time to mingle while have a bite to eat.

Another trend that is catching on is hiring a food truck to come towards the end of the night when guests have been dancing and having a great time.  It’s a great way for guests to enjoy a late night snack before they leave for the night.  Guests will get to share a little bit of your favorite late night snack and they get to leave your party well fed.7835029438_86b08d2370_o
