Meeting Vendors at Expos – featuring Crave Expo

In this post, we will be featuring the Crave Expo that we went to earlier this month.

Are you having trouble finding vendors for your special day? Want a one stop shop at finding most everything you need? Want to try some delicious food? Expos are a great way to do just that. Some expos are free while others do cost. We had the pleasure this past weekend to attend the Crave Expo in Anaheim. Thank you Crave for inviting us to your event! We got to meet wonderful caterers, bakeries, dessert vendors, florists, and much more! It was a lot of fun to connect with everyone and learn what they had to offer. We were even lucky enough to try different cuisines and fill our tummy with delicious food!

So why is it important to meet vendors? Let us tell you!!

1: Chemistry
I always find it very important to meet vendors first hand.  Not only do you get a taste of what they have to offer, but you also get to see if you connect with them.  Having a connection upon meeting is very important to us as I am sure it is for you guys.  One of the things we offer as wedding planners is a free consultation so that we can meet with potential clients and see if the chemistry is there.  It needs to work both ways.  It’s not about the money or about what services we have to offer.  Most vendors charge roughly around the same price and services are typically the same.  What you want to make sure is that you connect with them.  If you find it easy to talk with them, then I say that’s a great start at choosing the perfect vendor for you.

2: Discounts!
Typically when vendors take part in an expo, they come baring discounts. And if you’re not sure if they are offering deals, it doesn’t hurt to ask. You never know, they might just offer you one on the spot because you just asked. Don’t be afraid to try to save a little bit of that money for your honeymoon!

3: Inspiration
Florists and designers partner with expos to showcase their talent. They definitely know whats trending and will design either a table scape or a centerpiece to show what they have to offer and it allows you to see what is on trend today. Photobooths also have their own trends. I remember at one point, people were hiring video booths instead of photo booths. You just never know! So it’s always a good idea to check out a couple of these expos so that you can get an idea of what you want for your own wedding. Pinterest may be able to help you with that department but nothing beats seeing inspiration in person.

Above all else, if not for inspiration or searching for the right vendors, enjoy the freebies they have to offer! Most bridal shows will offer free tastings. At the Crave Expo, April Love Makeup Academy offered free makeovers. We got to try small bites, meals, and dessert. They even had a bar! You just never know what you will find at a bridal show. Every show is different. But we can assure you that you will definitely leave with more knowledge than you came in with. So give it a try! Find a show near you!

Don’t Forget To Take Photos With Your Bridal Party!!

With all the hectic things that are going on during the day of your wedding, don’t forget that the little things also matter.  Photographers do their best to capture the moments of your day, but sometimes, if you don’t mention what photos you would like to capture, they will assume you don’t want to waste time on it.  One of the very important moments you should capture are the moments with the people who will be standing there by your side while the two of you are saying your “I Dos.”  Your bridal party of course! They have been there with you since the day you asked them to be a part of your special day and you would definitely want to remember that when that day comes.  They have been there through your bridezilla days and were there to plan that crazy bachelorette party.  We can’t forget the men too!  They deserve a special spotlight with the bride and groom as well.  These photos that you take should show the unique bond you have with those closest to you.  So don’t forget to capture it and don’t forget to have fun with it! There’s so many fun and heartfelt ideas you can take with your bridal party.  Don’t be afraid to make it your own!

Wedding Day // Irene + John 11.8.14

I recently had the pleasure of planning and coordinating a wedding at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.  It was pretty amazing.  What made it even more special and dear to me was the fact that this was my cousin’s wedding as well.  And so the pressure began to make sure this wedding went off without a hitch!  It was also the first time my family would see my passion with wedding planning in action.  It was pretty nerve-racking.  But as the day went on, I got so many compliments from family and guests that I couldn’t be more happier with my accomplishments.  I wanted to show you all a Same Day Edit video from my cousins wedding.  FonD Productions made such an amazing video in such a short amount of time.  It’s pretty awesome.  You just have to watch it for yourselves.  =)
